LAMIN conducted a Free Online Course on ‘Fundamental Moral Theology’
Led by Maung John, LAMIN invited all Christians (Catholics especially)! to join a free online course on Fundamental Moral Theology. This course will explored the philosophical and practical foundations of Christian morality. The course was conducted in the first week of Feb 2024.
The course participants gained insights on:, The nature of morality and its difference from ethics; Virtue ethics, a core concept in Christian moral philosophy; How to analyze moral dilemmas and make good choices; Contemporary ethical issues facing Christians today, (Violence and war LGBTQ+ issues, Social justice, Euthanasia, Divorce and remarriage, Abortion, Surrogacy, Bioethics and cyber ethics)
The course progressed beyond simple pronouncements of “good” and “evil.” Through discussions and exploration of virtue ethics, delving deeper into the questions: Who am I? What do I want to become? How can I live the life I want to live?
LAMIN also conducted another Free Online Course on ‘Catholic Social Teaching’
LAMIN conducted a 7 Day Free Online Course on ‘Catholic Social Teaching’ in March from the 4th until 10th. The course participants gained insights on: Common good (Thinking of everyone); Distributive justice (Sharing fairly); Human dignity (Everyone is special); Participation (Taking part); Preferential option for the poor (Putting people in most need first); Promoting peace (Being peacemakers); Solidarity (Showing we care by working together); Stewardship (Caring for God’s Creation); Subsidiarity (Everyone should have a say). *
