Asianlayleaders.com – IMCS Asia Pacific Women Empowerment and Gender Equity Commission, conducted several activities to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023, such as a social media campaign, sharing session, and webinar.
The first activity was the social media campaign; they collected students’ statements on women’s empowerment and gender equity, shared them on social media, and reached out to the members and friends to read, inspire, and be empowered by their statements.
These are some statements of our students:

“For me, the ‘Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’ means we as a woman have to act and be encouraged to highlight women’s rights for a better future. The same rights and access to every opportunity and need to let the world know that a woman has the right to live her own life choices—the right to live comfortably. To live without fear, feel secured and comfort with their surroundings. Women also have the right to live free from bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. To every woman reading this, stay ambitious, be confident, and show that you, too, can achieve every dream because the influence of women is significant in every line at this time.”

“Gender equality means women and men can get the same facilities, and opportunities and be free to decide for a better future. Women’s contributions to climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response at every level and in all countries, create a more sustainable future. Therefore, they deserve equal rights in every country, every city, and villages as well as in their house. It’s our responsibility to ensure women’s privacy and safety.”

“Empowering women is essential to the health and social development of families, communities, and countries. When women are living safe, fulfilled, and productive lives, they can reach their full potential. They should be educated and developed in every sector of technology. Unfortunately in this era, some women are still left behind. Some acts can be done on a personal level or as a movement, to promote gender equality and empower women in the digital era, such as sharing household chores/housework and childcare equally, avoiding chauvinist and racist attitudes, providing anti-bias training, advocating our female colleagues, support women-run businesses, fight against injustice, support organizations that empower women.”
