ONLINE SESSIONS: CONTEXTUAL THEOLOGY FOR LAITY- SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER 2024
Contextual Theology for Laity- Online Sessions is a three-year project (2024-2026). Two evening sessions are conducted on Saturdays twice a month. The total register members for the Online Sessions in 2024 are 60 from Pakistan, Australia, Dubai, Rome, California and Portugal. A total of 6 online sessions are conducted by 6 speakers on the subject of Contextual Theology for Laity.
SEMINARS ON XVI BISHOPS’ SYNOD
MAP provides opportunities to the laity for learning theological topics and church teachings. MAP’s vision and mission to empower laity in the church and society through education and formation.
MAP took initiative to introduce the XVI Bishops Synod to the laity. MAP conducted 2 sessions. The first session was conducted on 22 at Christ the King Seminary Karachi. And the second session was held on 24 September, 2024 at St. John the Apostles, Latifabad, Hyderabad. Fr. Emmanuel Asi was the resource person in these sessions.
ROLE AND MINISTRY OF WOMEN
From the Women Theological Forum (WTF) MAP conducted 2 sessions on the topic of Role and Ministry of women. The first session was held on 23 September, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church, Kotri. The Session was organized on 25 September, 2024 at Dominican House 13, D Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. Mrs. Alishbah Javed Akhtar was the resource person during these sessions.
LAY MINISTRIES IN THE RENEWED CHURCH OF ASIA
A seminar on 11 November, 2024 conducted by MAP at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Jurian-Hafizabad. The topic of the seminar was “Lay Ministries in the Renewed Church of Asia” FABC paper no. 92j. Mrs. Alishbah Javed Akhtar (Directress-MAP) gave lecture on the topic “Lay Ministries in the Renewed Church of Asia”. Participants actively shared views during the seminar.
ANNUAL ASSEMBLY OF THE SPIRITUAL FAMILY OF LITTLE BROTHER CHARLES
Five days from November 25-29, 2024 the at Franciscan Friary, Gulshan-e-Iqbal- Karachi was organized. The theme was “Change of Heart”. During the five-day program the following topics were shared by the speakers:
Introduction International Team by Sunita Hameed, He Loved Us – Missionary Example of Bro. Charles by Asfha Shoukat & Chanda Shamoon, Bro. Charles and Holiness from the Heart of Jesus by Fr. Arthur Charles, Introduction to Desert Day by Allah Rakha Sharif, Bro. Charles: Cross and Heart by Shehzadi Kan-i-Ada, and Sharing Experience & Organizational Meeting by Fr. Emmanuel Asi.
Evening Eucharistic Prayers and Adoration during this annual assembly conducted. A total of 60 participants including men and women from various places in Karachi, Jurian-Hafizabad and Father Satani Selas-Christian Colony, Sadhoke attended this national Assembly.
ASIAN YOUTH ECOLOGICAL CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL
MAP always find and provide opportunities to the MAP members to learn more and interact with other organizations. These theological trainings and workshop enable the laity in developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, and abilities to play an integral and productive role in the church and society.
An Ecological Christmas Celebration featuring youths from Asia led by the Ecological Spirituality, Ecological Education, and Culture of Care Cluster (SECC). From MAP Aania Javeed Akhtar, Sunita Hameed and Nomi Munir shared views in this festival as a group entitled Holly Jolly Greenery group.
