Both speakers analyzed the impact of globalization on religion and delved into the challenges facing Christianity in Asia.
WTI 30th Anniversary
“We congratulate and support the Woori Theology Institute (WTI) for its 30 years of research on Korean theology by lay people. WTI celebrated its 30th anniversary this year and held a thanksgiving mass and a symposium on November 30th. In a country where theological studies are rarely available, we would like to recognize and encourage the 30-year journey of WTI, where lay people have worked together as a lifelong vocation based on faith.
WTI was founded first as a lay theological movement, and the basis of its vocation was the teaching of the Second Vatican Council on the way forward for the Church in the modern world, which is not unlike the spirit of Synodality discussed at the Synod of Bishops that concluded last October.”(Editorial of the Catholic Times, Dec.2, 2024)
