Synodal Way of Being Church

Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) conducted a three days seminar from 12 to 14 October, 2023 at Theological Institute for Laity (TIL) The theme of the seminar is “Synodal Way of Being Church”. During program the following topics shared by the following speakers Background and Content of Bishop Synod by Mrs. Alishbah Javed Akhtar; What is Synodality? By Fr. Juan Carlos, SJ; Synodal: Way of Being Church by Fr. Emmanuel Asi; Impact of Synod on Pakistani Church by Sis. Rebecca James, FSP.

The panel discussion was organized, during these sessions and workshops the participants shared and discussed their views and expressions. Total 50 participants (men and women) attended the seminar form Different parts of Pakistan.

Annual National Assembly- Fraternities of St. Bro. Charles: Fraternity Even in the Face of Failures

A five days annual national assembly on Spirituality of St. Br. Charles De Foucauld from 27 November to 1 December 2023 was organized at Theological Institute for Laity (TIL), G. T. Road Sadhoke, G. T. Road Sadhoke Distt, Gujranwala, Pakistan. The main theme was “Fraternity Even in the Face of Failures”. In the Annual assembly four priests of Jesus caritas, one little sister also attended the assembly. 31 lay fraternity members were present from different places of Pakistan.


Following topics presented during this annual assembly: (1) Aims & Objectives by Mrs. Alishbah Javed Akhtar; (2) Bro. Charles – Love for Nazareth by Fr. Arthur Charles; (3) Bro. Charles – Mission of Friendship by Mr. Sabir Saroya; (4) Introduction to Desert Day by Fr. Nazar Nawab; (5) Return from Desert Day by Fr. Bashrat Siraj; (6) Br. Charles and Synodality by Fr. Emmanuel Asi

Desert Day

On 30th November, 2023 the Desert was organised. The whole day participants went out for the experience of desert. In the evening the discussion of the desert day was incredible. The participants said that desert is a place of spiritual revolution, and a deep encounter with God. Desert does not mean living alone and without people, it means living with God, experience of God ‘s presence in nature. Desert is adopting a life of prayer, simplicity, and walking with the God. Closing Eucharistic Mass celebrated by His Excellency Yousaf Sohan, Bishop of Multan Diocese. Bishop Yousaf Sohan is a pioneer member of Jesus caritas in Pakistan.
