Asianlayleaders.com – ALL Forum conducted Moving School Thailand On April 25th – 30th 2023, with the theme theme “Women, Great Spirits, and Intercultural Citizenship Empowering Harmony between Indigenous People and Urban Communities for the Sustainable Future in Asia” at the International Youth Training Centre (IYTC) IMCS, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Around 30 participants actively participated in this Moving School in Thailand. It was very interesting because all participants are teenagers from Catholic schools and the Karen, Lahu, and Hmong indigenous peoples. On the first day of the field trip, the participants were divided into 2 groups and visited 2 different areas Khung Klang Village and Mae Klang Luang Village.

The participants were very well received by the local community. From the two villages visited, participants learned about the ties between indigenous peoples and the environment, religion, and traditional beliefs of the local community. In addition, participants also learned how local people maintain a balance between the economy and nature.
After the field visits, the moving school program was continued with thematic workshops presented by resource persons on different topics as follows: Women in Indigenous People Communities Empowering Integral Ecology for the Better World, Promoting and Developing Integral Ecology and Interculturality Based on Intercultural Spirituality, and Synodal Church for ‘Interreligious and Intercultural citizenship’ in Thailand and Asia.*
