Asian Sacred Wisdom (ASW) organised a virtual lecture on the 29th of January, engaging the participants from across South and South East Asia on the “Relevance of Ancestral Wisdom for a Scientific Age”. The Lecture was facilitated by two speakers simultaneously, Ms. Anne Lasimbang, Director of PACOS TRUST and Dr. Felix Tonggul, Chairperson of the Board of Directors PACOS TRUST and Faculty of Geology, Univeron the “Relevance of Ancestral Wisdom for a Scientific Age”sity of Sabah, East Malaysia. Both the speakers delivered the informative session in a conversive style, elaborating the diffrerent practices, wisdom and knowledge of the indigenous peoples and responding with the scientific perspectives of the same.

Many thematic areas including agricultutal practices, herbal medication, climate, disaster preparedness, knowledge development, documentation and dissemination were discussed in a simple conversive manner. The 30 odd participants who joined the virtual lecture were also very engaged during the session and had many question for the speakers during the Q&A session. A lot of questions concerning indigenous people on climate change, geo-political contexts we also raised by participants during the session.
