East Asia Evangelization Center (EAEC) Update Activity April to June 2025

The East Asia Evangelization Center (EAEC) continues to foster dialogue, reflection, and regional collaboration through a series of meaningful events held in the first half of 2025. The center, committed to theological engagement and the mission of evangelization in the Asian context, hosted three significant gatherings between April and June 2025.

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, EAEC held its 21st Annual Symposium under the theme “Dialogue with the Poor in Asia.” The event took place at the 2nd Floor Auditorium of the Suwon Diocese and ran from 9:45 AM to 5:00 PM. The symposium explored how the Church can engage in authentic dialogue with the marginalized across the Asian continent. The gathering provided a space for shared learning and renewed commitment to solidarity with the poor.

Following the symposium, EAEC hosted a Forum Presentation on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 8:00 PM KST. The forum featured a presentation by Song Joo-Young, who spoke on “The Reception and Development of the Catholic Church in Korea – Characteristics and Roles by Historical Period.” The presentation offered a deep historical analysis of the evolution of the Catholic Church in Korea, examining how its role and identity have transformed over time.

To conclude this series of events, EAEC celebrated its 12th Anniversary on Thursday, June 5, 2025, with a special thanksgiving service held at the chapel on the 3rd floor of the Suji Sacred Heart Education Center. The ceremony, which ran from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, was a time of reflection, gratitude, and recommitment to EAEC’s vision of evangelization in East Asia.
