Asian Youth for a Sustainable and Just Future: Moving School India 2025

The Asian Lay Leaders (ALL) Forum successfully organized Moving School India 2025, held from 7 to 12 April 2025 at the IRDS Center in Chennai, India. The program was a partnership with the Integrated Rural Development Society (IRDS) with the focus theme on, “How Young People Can Work Together with Peoples in Poverty for Public Good and a Sustainable Future in Asia,” which brought together passionate young people from across the region to engage deeply with issues of justice, poverty, and solidarity.

The week began with a field visit to Kattupayur village, where participants learned directly from Dalit communities who reclaimed Panchami lands after a decade-long struggle. Their stories of resilience, legal advocacy, and collective empowerment—especially through land ownership granted to women—served as a living example of faith in action.

Following the first day of the field visit, the program continued with in-depth immersion sessions divided into five topics: 1) Neo-liberalism led Global economy vs. People Power: Special Focus on Dalits and Their Land rights struggles in India, 2) Neo-liberalism led Global economy vs. People Power: Special Focus on Dalits and Their Land Right Struggles in India, 3) Neo-liberalism led Global economy vs. People Power: Special Focus on Dalits and Their Land Right Struggles in India, 4) Interreligious Dialogue and Collaboration for Fighting against “Religious Nationalism”, 5) Intercultural Spirituality and Intercultural Citizenship for New Humanism.
