ORIENTATION SESSION FOR SPEAKERS
On 8 January 2025, an Orientation session was conducted on Zoom for the speakers of Contextual Theology for Laity-Online Sessions. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Asi was the resource person. A total of 17 participants attended the online training session.
ONLINE SESSIONS: CONTEXTUAL THEOLOGY FOR LAITY- SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER 2025
Contextual Theology for Laity-Online Sessions is a three-year project (2024-2026). Two evening sessions are conducted on Saturdays twice a month. The total registered members for the Online Sessions in 2025 are 65 from different cities of Pakistan and from Overseas Australia, Dubai, California, USA, Kuwait. A total of 5 online sessions are conducted.
SEMINARS ON PILGRIMS OF HOPE
MAP provides opportunities for the laity to learn theological topics. MAP’s vision and mission is to empower the laity in the church and society through education and formation.
MAP took initiative to introduce the importance of the Jubilee Year 2025 “Pilgrims of Hope” to the laity. Fr. Emmanuel Asi and Mrs. Alishbah Javed Akhtar were the resource persons in these sessions. MAP conducted in different cities of Hyderabad Diocese.
The seminars joined by 220 participants.
50TH PRIESTHOOD CELEBRATION-FR. EMMANUEL ASI
Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) celebrated the 50th (1974-2024) Priestly Ordination of Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Asi on 24 January 2025 at Cardinal Cordeiro Hall, Christ the King Seminary-Karachi by the MAP members from Karachi Diocese. It was a gesture to give tribute to Fr. Emmanuel Asi on his unforgotten service in Pakistan. Fr. Emmanuel Asi is committed to the empowerment of the laity and especially women in the Pakistani context. During these celebrations, participants shared views about his services.
THE JUBILEE YEAR 2025: PILGRIMS OF HOPE
A two days seminar was organized to introduce The Jubilee Year 2025 from 20-21 February 2025 at Theological Institute for Laity (TIL), G. T. Road Sadhoke, Distt. Gujranwala. The topic of the seminar was “Pilgrims of Hope”. During the seminar the following topics were discussed.
During these sessions, participants had a discussed through raising questions and appreciating the speakers. Eucharistic mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Asi (Chairperson-MAP). Total 56 participants attended the seminar from different places of Pakistan including Karachi, Hyderabad, Kotri, Nawabshaw, Mirpurkhas, Sheikhupura,
Farooqabad, Jurian, Hafizabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sadhoke, MAP board members and MAP staff were also present.
PILGRIMS OF HOPE: 36 YEARS (1989-2025) SERVICES OF MAP
On 22th February 2025, MAP 36 years Jubilee was celebrated under the theme: Pilgrims of Hope: 36 Years (1989-2025) Services of MAP. The chief guest was Mr. Ashraf Mall (CEO Pakistan Partnership Initiative). Thanksgiving Eucharistic Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Asif Sardar (Vicar General-Archdiocese of Lahore). Symbolically Jubilee candle was enlightened by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Asi (Chairperson-MAP) and guests.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)
The MAP Annual General Meeting (AGM) was organized on 22 February 2025 at the head office, Theological Institute for Laity (TIL), G.T Road, Sadhoke, Distt. Gujranwala. MAP friends, well-wishers, board members, coordinators, and members were present from different cities of Pakistan.
The MAP Annual report 2024, MAP Newsletter 2024, Annual Planner 2025 and a published book entitled “Equality-Participation (Feminist Perspective)” were launched. Participation certificates were given to the students of the Online sessions on Contextual Theology for Laity for the year 2024.
Symbolically, the plants are planted by the chief guest and the member. Mrs. Alishbah Javed Akhtar (Directress – MAP) paid a vote of thank to all the participants and especially to the chief guests, friends and supporters of MAP and the donors, office staff and supporting staff and to all who ever support MAP in the last 36 Years (1989-2025) services of MAP.
WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION: ACCELERATE ACTION TO MORE INCLUSIVE WORLD FOR GIRLS/WOMEN
Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP)-Women Theological Forum (WTF) conducted a program at the Women’s Day Celebration on 8 March 2024 at Theological Institute for Laity (TIL), G. T. Road Sadhoke, Distt. Gujranwala, Pakistan. The topic of the program was “Accelerate Action to a More Inclusive World for Girls/Women”. Ms. Sunita Hameed (In charge-Formation and Education-MAP) welcomed all participants.
Mrs. Alishbah Javed Akhtar (Directress-MAP) gave her views on “Accelerate Action to a More Inclusive World for Girls/Women” according to the Pakistani context. Miss. Aania Javeed Akhtar shared her views on “Accelerate Action to a More Inclusive World for Girls/Women”. The participants actively shared their views and poems. A total of 55 participants were present from different cities. In the end, women planted the new plants. All together, 45 participants attended this seminar.
